Frostwick PermaShield Composition

The use of insulating layers to reduce frost heave damage is a technique that has been used for many years. The Frostwick application uses this proven approach, and adds geosynthetic layers to the top and bottom, creating a stronger, longer lasting, more comprehensive solution to frost heave damage. This continuous barrier is very sturdy, while the geosynthetic fabric prevents moisture migration and “wicks” water away toward the edge of the installation.

Cost-Effective

Because of its strength and insulating properties, a Frostwick insulation does not require a repair to go as deep as conventionally needed, and does not require sand to be trucked in and laid above and below the insulation. For these reasons, a Frostwick installation is usually cheaper than a conventional insulation installation. Additionally, all known Frostwick installations are still functioning perfectly, reducing long-term maintenance costs substantially.
